Mike Hutcheson - Speaker
Mike is an Adjunct Professor at the Auckland University of Technology. He has spent most of his life working out what makes people tick, what they want and why.
The World Economic Forum Report 2019 states that the top three skills required for the next decade are Critical Thinking, Complex Problem Solving and Creativity. Mike is an expert in all these areas.
He is a serial start-up guy, having co-founded leading advertising agencies Colenso BBDO and Hutcheson Knowles Marinkovich. His advertising career in Auckland culminated with him becoming Managing Director of Saatchi and Saatchi. He was also a director of a family building company and, in the early 80s, set up Replica Homes with franchises throughout New Zealand.
In 2003 he launched The Lighthouse Ideas Company, set up Scarborough Fair, a Fair-Trade organic coffee and tea marketing company and planted Lonely Cow vineyard on Waiheke Island. He is a director of a number of private and public companies and has interests in a wine distribution company operating in Nashville, Tennessee.
Mike has written four books and is a regular television guest and commentator. He writes an Innovation column for Ideolog magazine and has been named Business Columnist of the Year. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and has a Master of Philosophy degree (with 1st Class Honours). His thesis was on the alchemy of innovation in New Zealand business.
Duncan Abbott - PM Speaker
Duncan has been in the real estate software industry for over 20 years, initially working for Realbase as a software architect, developer and owner (before the company name was changed to Palace). He created the first version of Palace as a desktop application and later the hybrid cloud solution for a worldwide property management audience. Currently, Duncan works with MRI Software as their Director for Property Management Solutions in the Asia Pacific region (directing the development of both Palace and Property Tree). He brings to our stage not only a passion for all things technological and the future this can create but also a vast background in property management and automation.

She's a critically acclaimed artist, who's featured in prestigious art publications, is well-known for her philanthropic efforts and has been sketching since she was a young kid in a small town. If truth be told, Emily's greatest art achievement is some fairly average pavement chalk scribbles through lockdown featured in the Pt Chev Primary School newsletter.

She has over 25 years of experience across media, marketing, coaching and leadership and is unreservedly passionate and curious about people and what makes us tick. She's a keen storyteller and a firm believer that having an understanding of why people behave the way they do, allows us far greater and more meaningful connections in our personal and business lives.

Richie McCaw - Speaker
All Blacks great Richie McCaw has a CV so jam-packed it is difficult to know where to begin.
He’s the most-capped rugby player of all time, having notched up 148 tests for the All Blacks - 110 of those as captain, and widely regarded as the greatest player to ever don the black jersey.
In a career littered with famous wins, two big ones stand out - the World Cup victory in 2011 and 2015, in which McCaw became the first person to captain a side to back-to-back World Cup titles.
A player that always led by example, McCaw has won World Rugby’s Player of the Year award three times - a joint record with Dan Carter.
Since his retirement, McCaw, who played all his rugby in New Zealand, has been able to concentrate on his other passion - aviation, both as a pastime and a profession. In the 2016 New Year’s Honours, McCaw was appointed a member of the Order of New Zealand - the country’s highest honour.

There is no complimentary car parking available at Aotea Centre / Aotea Square / The Civic / Auckland Town Hall.
During the event, car parking is available in the nearby Civic Car Park; both entrances are located off Mayoral Drive.
Any vehicle parking in breach of the policy is liable to be towed at the owner’s expense by the tow company detailed in the parking signage.

Public Transport
Bus stops are all around each of our four venues - Queen Street, Mayoral Drive, Wellesley Street and Victoria Street.
Main transport hub, Auckland Britomart Station, is at the downtown end of Queen Street. 15- minute walk from Aotea Centre, Aotea Square, The Civic or Auckland Town Hall.
The Ferry depot for Devonport and Waiheke Island can be located at the downtown end of Queen Street (10-minute walk).
Taxi ranks are located at Wellesley Street at the end of Bledisloe Lane (2-minute walk). Alternatively, taxis can be arranged for pickup from reception front desk.
